    The overall role of the Production Engineer Co-Op/Intern is to serve as the primary mechanical engineering resource for Crestron’s manufacturing facility. In serving that role, the Production Engineer’s main responsibility is to develop assembly processes, procedures, fixtures, and tools for all new Crestron products, and transition them from the NPI (New Product Introduction) phase to the Production Line.


    The Co-Op/Intern will be provided the opportunity to work on the following tasks, utilizing the guidance of his or her assigned mentor. In order to perform these tasks, the intern will work with his or her mentor to gain familiarity with Production Engineering’s departmental operating procedures.

    1. Perform updates to assembly and packaging procedures to support the Production Line, Service Department, and our Contract Manufacturers
    2. Create rework and conversion procedures to support the Production Line
    3. Create OEM packaging procedures to support the Service Department
    4. Create new assembly and packaging procedures
    5. Gain familiarity with AutoCAD and Creo to design basic fixtures. By the end of the internship, the candidate should be able to create a basic fixture design, have the parts fabricated, and assemble the fixture.


    The candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:

    1. Must be currently pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and be entering their Junior or Senior year in the fall
    2. Must have a minimal familiarity with CAD software (examples are AutoCAD, Creo, Solidworks, IDEAS, or similar programs)
    3. Must be able to work both individually and as part of a cross-functional team
    4. Must be familiar with the basic theories behind mechanical engineering design
    5. Must possess good technical writing skills
    6. Must possess the ability to effectively analyze and resolve problems - assess a situation, gather data, analyze the data, propose a solution
    7. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
