    The Quality Engineering team is seeking a Lead Manual Performance Test Engineer. As a member of this team, this Lead QE Engineer will work closely with members of the QE, Product Management and Development teams to define the test strategy, plan and test cases for manual test cycles including functional, regression, and smoke testing. The ideal Lead Quality Engineer would have a firm grip on the business, technical, and operational requirements and would be key to building an efficient test strategy and plan. Ultimately, the Lead QE Engineer is responsible for delivering high quality product on schedule and demonstrating the same via defined metrics. This role will sit out of our state of the art R&D facility in our World HQ in Rockleigh, NJ 07647

    • An over average creative mind/intellect which can rapidly find defects in almost any commercial or residential embedded product.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills – These 2 skills are the pillar to any manual test engineer to “clearly” and “accurately” communicate defects and product behavior with members of the product development team.
    • Self-Driven / Self-Motivated – This is another basic demand for this role. You are expected to deliver a high quality product from reviewing requirements to delivering finished product with minimal need for supervision.


    • Reviewing requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
    • Creating detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
    • Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating testing activities
    • Design, develop and execute manual and automation test cases.
    • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
    • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
    • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products.
    • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
    • Monitor debugging process results
    • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
    • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
    • Provide process improvement recommendations.
    • Special projects as assigned


    • A minimum of a Bachelor in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required, Masters is a plus
    • A minimum of 10 years of years of relevant experience in embedded system involving firmware and hardware testing is required
    • Thorough understanding of test processes and test methodologies including knowledge and experience with test automation, concepts, theories, practices and procedures along with commitment to product excellence and quality is required
    • Experience in providing and presenting project status reports through the development cycle and knowledge of full life cycle of the R&D development process is preferred
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and deliver quality software to production within tight schedules is required
    • Knowledge of Automation Tools like QTP and Selenium and experience with Agile software development methodologies is a preferred
    • Experience with defect tracking systems, test management systems and software revision control is required
    • Track record of completing assignments on time with a high degree of quality is critical
    • Ability to build, manage motivate and inspire a diverse and geographically dispersed (on-site, off-site, off-shore) technical team is required
    • Experience in IP and networking protocols (TCP/IP, SIP, Ethernet, IGMP, DHCP, Active directory) is required
    • Experience in audio and video testing is a plus
    • Working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems is preferred
    • Excellent team player with a consistently positive attitude and collaborative approach to problem solving, options analysis and continuous improvement of process, team and systems.
    • Ability to multitask and manage multiple large scale projects is critical
    • Team oriented; strong interpersonal skills is essential
    • Exceptional written and verbal skills is required
