    Overview

     

    This position is responsible for managing Crestron’s Business Projects unit (PMO), focused on executing monthly PMO activities including deployment of our PMO methodology. This role provides portfolio visibility to the IT Leadership Team. This individual will have direct reports and will be responsible for performance management of those individuals. 

    The Director, Project and Portfolio Management, will be responsible for all project management activities for product portfolio and initiative projects. This individual will also be responsible for participating in establishing project management best practices and infrastructure at Crestron.

    Responsibilities

    • Set the strategy and lead a team responsible for delivery of various improvement initiatives from problem definition to implementation completion.
    • Accountable for the support of execution of programs that require an important level of cross functional teamwork and are typically performed under time constraints. Responsible for program definition, resourcing, issue escalation, budget, risk management and delivery.
    • Partnership with functional stakeholders to prioritize and validate large capital investments and build associated business case justification to gain executive level approval.
    • Define, implement, and maintain program management strategies, procedures, processes, and methodologies.
    • Define and evolve various operating models to manage large scale initiatives related to continuous improvement and ensure direction of the initiative remains aligned with leadership expectations.
    • Foster collaboration, strategic alignment and integrated planning and execution across different functions in a matrix organization.
    • Overall responsibility for the project management team, providing insight to project management practices, training and oversight 
    • Overall responsibility for project delivery 
    • Coordinate project administration, such as time tracking, meeting minutes, and key initiative reporting 
    • Proactively identify issues concerning technical limitations and key product requirements 
    • Partner with SAP team and other Application leads as there is joint responsibility with the lead systems manager to provide technical oversight to ensure business requirements are met, monitor project plans, manage budgets, align resources, and project delivery 
    • Analyze business needs and work with project sponsors to propose and deliver cost effective solutions 
    • Manage executive expectations and collaborate with them to acquire any necessary information and direction on their projects

    Qualifications

    • An Undergraduate degree is required
    • A PMP Certification or other Project Management Certification is required
    • A minimum of 10 years of hands on experience in supporting IT PMO and Project Governance principles is required
    • Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Powerpoint proficient 

    • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including presentation effectiveness 

    • Ability to collaborate and influence a cross-functional team environment, including success in stakeholder management 

    • Proven analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills 

    • Self-motivated and able to operate independently, demonstrating sound judgement in seeking appropriate guidance and direction 

    • Experience with Business Software and Analysis Tools (SAP or other ERP system a plus)

    Domestic and Global travel (10-15%)
