    Crestron Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Thermal Engineer. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team in a fast growing organization.  We are seeking a polished, proactive, and professional Mechanical Compliance Engineer to support the Engineering Services Department. 


    We will look for you to showcase your knowledge and experience developing creative engineering solutions to meet product requirements.



    • Perform thermal design of electronic products:
      • Provide thermal solutions for forced air cooled and natural convection cooled products.
      • Use CAD software such as Creo including EMN/EMP file transfers to build assembly models for thermal simulations.
      • Use CFD thermal software to obtain simulation results.
      • Apply heat-transfer fundamentals to resolve thermal issues.
    • Assist in thermal verification testing and resolve any issues resulting from simulation results and lab testing.
    • Develop CAD/thermal library of components of commonly used parts such as connectors, thermal interface parts, fans, blowers, heat-sinks.
    • Generate thermal simulation/validation reports to share with project teams and management.
    • Develop creative engineering solutions to meet product requirements.
    • Perform FEA analysis for stress and impact using FEA software such as ProMechanica.
    • Provide mechanical design guidelines to meet Mechanical compliance to Global regulatory requirements in the areas of safety and EMC.


    • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required
    • Minimum 5 years of working experience
    • 3D CAD experience (Creo preferred).
    • Thermal CFD simulation experience.
    • Excellent understanding of mechanical/thermal aspects of electronic devices, thermal interface materials, heat-sinks, heat-spreaders, PCBs.
    • Proficiency in Design for Manufacturability.
    • Working knowledge of design guidelines for EMC/ESD compliance at component, board and system level.
    • In depth knowledge of regulatory requirements for Mechanical Compliance in the areas of safety and EMC:
      • US/CSA: UL standards such as UL 60950, UL60065, UL 508, UL 508A
      • International: CE, RCM, KCC, PSE, CCC
      • Other: FCC, Energy Star
    • Ability to work on multiple projects in results-oriented, fast paced environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
