We continue to experience rapid growth as we invest in resources and create new opportunities, as a result, we have exciting opportunities for a Manager, Firmware Engineering to lead our Control System Applications team our Rockleigh, NJ team.  

 

We need a creative engineer, who thrives on solving problems, and can motivate and lead people. We will look for you to showcase your strong embedded system knowledge and firmware development experience and apply your expertise in embedded system's firmware design, development, and support for our next generation control systems. 

Responsibilities

  • Direct the activities of firmware engineering group in the design, development, testing and ongoing maintenance of Crestron Control System products using industry best practices. Continually looks for ways of improving development processes and delivery timelines.
  • Work with Engineering Management teams to define new products and ensure engineering feasibility. Create project specifications to implement new firmware in products.
  • Work with technical support to resolve problems in the field with existing products firmware.
  • Provides technical leadership to assigned product families to ensure architectural and design correctness.
  • Hire, motivate and manage a cohesive development team of firmware engineers to establish and meet aggressive project commitments and timeline deliverables. 
  • Performs regular performance reviews of direct reports and project leads and provide ongoing career mentoring and guidance and development. 
  • Special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience directly managing a team of 5 or more engineers
  • Must have BSCE/BSEE with 8-15 years’ experience or an MSEE/MSCE with 6-10 years of embedded firmware development experience.
  • Experience with communication networks and protocols is required
  • Experience with Linux or Android OS is required
  • Must have strong C/ C++ and C# programming skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is essential to this role
  • Must be persistent, possess strong problem-solving skills, and be willing to work with others to find solutions that avoid project stalls
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, creative, have a solid work ethic and have a desire to produce a quality product
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast moving environment
