We continue to experience rapid growth as we invest in resources and create new opportunities; as a result, we have exciting opportunities for an Intern (Summer 2018) to join our Product Engineering team in Rockleigh, New Jersey.

 

We are seeking a polished, proactive, and professional Product Engineering Intern to assist in supporting the transition of product from New Product Introduction into Production.  In this role, you will work to gain familiarity with Product Engineering’s operating procedures in a firm that cultivates a close-knit and collaborative corporate culture.

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of a mentor, the Product Engineering Intern will:

  • Perform updates to assembly and packaging procedures to support the Production Line, Service Department, and our Contract Manufacturers
  • Create rework and conversion procedures to support the Production Line
  • Create OEM packaging procedures to support the Service Department
  • Create new assembly and packaging procedures
  • Gain familiarity with AutoCAD and ProEngineer to design basic fixtures. By the end of the internship, the candidate should be able to create a basic fixture design, have the parts fabricated, and assemble the fixture.
  • Assist the Product Engineering team with running reliability and repeatability testing on our products
  • Assist the Engraving Department with upgrading and modernizing many of the engraving alignment/holding fixtures.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and be entering their Junior or Senior year in the fall of 2018
  • Must have a minimal familiarity with CAD software (examples are AutoCAD, ProEngineer, Solidworks, IDEAS, or similar programs)
  • Must be able to work both individually and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Must be familiar with the basic theories behind mechanical engineering design
  • Must possess good technical writing skills
  • Must possess the ability to effectively analyze and resolve problems - assess a situation, gather data, analyze the data, propose a solution
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
